Rutgers-Newark Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing

Courses & MFA Concentrations
Students entering the Master of Fine Arts Program at Rutgers-Newark will complete a 48 credit hour program in four to six semesters, as follows:

20 hours of intensive seminar Writing Workshop in a specific genre
   (5 hours may be cross-genre, with dept. permission)
7 thesis hours in a specific genre
   (including 4 hrs of mentored "Thesis in Conference")
21 hours of Literature courses (7 courses, 3 credit hours each)
   (including 6 hours of a chosen Electives Concentration)
